Adapted from Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, this story takes us to the Nazi occupied Netherlands, where a straightforward Jewish girl is in hiding with her family. The story follows the day to day life, and sometimes the humorously lighthearted escapades of the Frank family, in the attic where they lived in hiding for two years. Frances Goodrich & Albert Hacket have fashioned a wonderfully sensitive tender drama out of a real-life legacy left to us by the spirited Anne Frank.
Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg’s career is winding down, while Kate’s is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park—or that has found him—bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. A street-smart (and outspoken) mixture of Lab and Poodle, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention as she competes with Kate for Greg’s love and attention. Notably portrayed on Broadway by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Annaleigh Ashford, Sylvia is the sassy, sweet, and adorable star of this tail-wagging comedy.
